Testimonials

Praise from MDs, PwPs & more

Pam has transformed her own experience of living with Parkinson’s into an exploration of the body to create ground-breaking movements. Her work has benefitted the mind and bodies of countless people with Parkinson's.

Dr. Alessandro Di Rocco, M.D.
Director, Movement Disorders Program at Northwell Health

Pam understands our limitations and gently pushes us beyond them.

Sharon Resin
PD Movement Lab Class student, Person with Parkinson's

"Gaitkeeping enabled me to know why I was doing what I was doing. Now, I don’t shuffle as much, I take bigger steps, and I walk with more intention.”

Kim N.
Gaitkeeping student, Person with Parkinson's

"Pam's background of intense physical analysis plus her personal sensation of the disease gives her a unique vantage point from which to create helpful exercises. Add that to her compassion and energetic spirit, and you have a wonderful PD Coach."

Lucien J. Côté, MD
Professor Emeritus of Neurology, Columbia University
Lifetime Achievement Awardee, Parkinson’s Disease Foundation

“Pam, I think you have been helpful to me because you are a teacher who really cares…You help me move safely and with grace. Thank you!

Charlie Tobey
PD Movement Lab Class student, Person with Parkinson's

“I wanted to let you know that I just had one of my more energetic walks in recent memory.  Gaitkeeping seems completely natural and intuitive.”

Mike B.
Gaitkeeping student, Person with Parkinson's

“Pam has a unique ability to connect with her clients, and truly understand and feel what a person with PD is experiencing physically and emotionally. This creates more meaning and success for her students.”

Christine Flynn
Parkinson’s Specialist, NYIT Academic Health Care Center

“When I arrived in Kyoto, I was not confident I could do the dance. But once I felt the energy of the other people around me I began to believe in my body. It made me excited to move, instead of scared.”

Mie Maruyama
Dancer in "Ooh Aah!" Performance, Person with Parkinson's from Japan

“This dance was an extraordinary undertaking. Pam filmed the choreography in New York and sent it out to people in Japan, Australia, Europe and the U.S. Some rehearsed in small groups in their living room, others learned it on their own, and tonight, they will come together to perform it for the first time. The World Parkinson's Congress is about collaboration and perseverance, and Pam’s choreography exemplifies that spirit.”

Marie-Françoise Chesselet, MD, PhD
President, World Parkinson’s Coalition; Charles H. Markham Professor of Neurology at UCLA

"I took Gaitkeeping shortly after my diagnosis and I felt the difference in my walk immediately. I still use what I learned today.”

Dan Starer
Gaitkeeping student, Person with Parkinson's

“From the moment I get out of bed, to when I lie backdown at night, I carry Pam's practical tools and motivational words to guide me through the difficult moments that Parkinson's throws my way.”

Carol Enseki

Linda Tickle-Degnen, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA

  –Cirilo E.
Gaitkeeping student, Person with Parkinson's

“I’ve had PD for 7 years, I am from a family of doctors, and Gaitkeeping was the first therapy that spoke to me in my own language.”

Jeff C.
Gaitkeeping student, Person with Parkison's

“In my role as a psychiatrist working with PwP, I have seen how much anxiety can exacerbate gait dysfunction and impair QoL. The Gaitkeeping course was illuminating and fun—and its system of creative, research-based walking strategies is inspiring and can increase a sense of control. I wish I had it for my patients years ago.

Mark Groves, MD
Psychiatrist, Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence at Mount Sinai Beth Israel

Gaitkeeping is one of the best educational tools for PwPs I have ever seen. It was an absolute joy to take!”

Heather Cianci, Physical Therapist
